Congratulations to the following children who won a prize in the Roadsafe Taranaki Feet First story competition. We asked students to write about the experiences of an older person they knew and how they used to get to school. In partnership with O2 Project Bike Shop in Stratford there was also a bike and accessories (up to $500) up for grabs in each district.
The winner of a bike (and accessories) up to the value of $500 from O2 Project were:
Briana Wallis Hawera Primary

Makayla Tuuta Mangorei
The winners of a $25 Whitcoulls Book Voucher were:

The vouchers and a congratulations certificate will be forwarded to each winner via their school.
Two District Librarians and Dinah King from Roadsafe Taranaki judged the stories, and were impressed with the research some students undertook to get their story. This is reflected in awarding of additional prizes in some age groups due to the high caliber of entries.
Congratulations and thank you in particular to Hawera Primary, Mangorei and Pembroke schools for supporting the competition through encouraging classes of students to enter.
