In Brighton & Hove City Council's Sustainable Transport Campaign worked with three local schools to celebrate national Walk to School Week using the theme 'walk and talk'.
They TWALKED
They asked children to talk to parents and carers about their walk to school and children wrote stories which were be recorded in the classroom. Some stories were broadcast on the radio during Walk to School week (18-21 May). The three schools involved were Westdene, St Joseph's and St Margaret's.
Three artists visited the schools and children took part in storytelling workshops and recorded their stories on digital recorders. Snippets of the stories were broadcast on JuiceFM from 18 to 22 May along with live interviews with some of the children from Westdene School.
