Teachers! Win one of three prizes of $1,000 worth of books about active travel for your school library

We would like to hear teachers’ experiences of walking so we can use your stories on this website. To enter the competition you need to fill in the online form below and tell us about a walking experience that you remember.

You could describe your memories of a recent walk. Tell us what the geographic /spatial location was like. What senses do you remember? Sounds/smells etc. Or describe the sense of walking as a child/or with your own children and why you enjoyed it.

Three lucky winners will be drawn from all the entries and will receive $1,000 worth of active travel related books for their school library. The competition closes on 30 April 2010.

Terms and Conditions

  • Each completed online entry form will receive one entry into the draw to win one of three prizes consisting of $1,000 worth of books about active travel for the library of the school you work for at the date of your entry.
  • One prize draw entry per person.
  • The Feet First team will register all entrants’ schools for Feet First 2010 after the entrant has submitted an entry, unless their school is already registered. The winner must come from a registered school.
  • Entries close at 5pm on Friday 30 April 2010.
  • The prize draw will be made on Monday 3 May 2010.
  • Winners will be notified via email.
  • Winners agree to their story being published on the Feet First website and other promotional purposes such as in communications material to promote Feet First. Submittors will be referenced by their first name only.
  • Prizes are not redeemable for cash.
  • This competition is not open to employees of the New Zealand Transport Agency.
  • The decision of the New Zealand Transport Agency on all matters, including eligibility and validity of prize draw entries, operation of the draw and allocation of the prize is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The New Zealand Transport Agency reserves the right to terminate or suspend competition or to amend the competition conditions at any time without notice.

There are a range of prizes available to schools registered for Feet First. The prizes are designed to encourage use of this website and the curriculum materials.

 

2010 Sports Vouchers

Schools that collect and enter data on the number of students who walk will be entered into a prize draw each term. There are 10 x $500 sports vouchers (Sports Distributors NZ Ltd) to be given away each term.

Schools don't have to collect the data for each week of the term to be considered. However they must have collected it for at least five weeks in Term 1 to be entered into that term's draw. For Terms 2 to 4 they must have collected data for at least eight weeks a term to be considered for each term's draw. Walking data can be entered after each week or at any time throughout the term but must be submitted by the end of term date for the school to be considered for that term's draw.

The Golden Boot

Each school that registers will automatically be sent a ‘Golden Boot’ trophy. Schools can then award it each week/month/term to winning students or classes for their walking efforts.
