On average there are more new people arriving in NZ per day than are leaving. Some New Zealand cities are struggling to keep up with the influx of new residents. A proactive approach needs to be adopted to cater for future needs.

You have been commissioned either to design a city for the future for your area that will be opened in 2020, or to redesign your existing communal spaces to accommodate the needs of your community, with a focus on the needs of young people. It is important to recognise that sustainable design must consider the mix of land uses and population densities that are appropriate.
