Conditions of entry

Entries close 12 November 2010

• The competition is open to all New Zealand schools registered with Feet First.
• The students taking part must be in years 1–8.
• The entering team may be a class of students or a group of students within a class.
• More than one class of students (or group of students within a class) from one school may enter.
• The picture book and contents must be original and unpublished. Entries must not include copied material or copyrighted materials that belong to third parties.
• Each entry must be one complete story.
• Entries must comply with the requirements set out in the Entries section on page 3.
• The winning class (or group) must be willing to work collaboratively with the writer/book editor and illustrator/book designer to prepare their book for publication.
• All entries must be accompanied by an official entry form.
• Entries close at 5pm, 12 November 2010.
• The copyright in all entries will remain with the creators of the picture book. Authorship should take the following form: ‘Written and illustrated by the children of Room x, Xxxxx School’.
• By submitting an entry to the competition, the school and the authors and creators of the picture book give the NZ Transport Agency the right to take copies from the picture book and to publish a picture book (or part of it), without charge in all media.
