Feet First - Sports voucher thanks

At assembly recently the children of Gate Pa School, Tauranga were very excited to receive new sports equipment for their school.  Michael O’Neill, Senior Education Adviser, NZTA presented the equipment to the school at assembly.

The Feet First program is run alongside the schools already existing Kids On Feet programme and is co-ordinated by myself as a parent and many other parent volunteers with the continued support and encouragement from school staff. 

When the school found out they had won the vouchers each class was asked what their ‘wish list’ would be and then from the gigantic list!, with the help of  Miss Maxie (Sports Co-ordinator) we narrowed it down to the most popular and needed equipment for the school.

Thank you again to Feet First. It has certainly encouraged our children to walk, cycle more often not only to and from school but during their leisure time as well.
