World Car Free Day =Green Day at Omanu

World Car Free Day =Green Day at Omanu

“Green Day became the day at Omanu School where we encouraged the whole school to be travelsmart, have a litter free lunchbox and wear green. All students could achieve three stamps for following the three Green Day environmental ideas. These were:

· Wearing green

· Litter free lunchboxes

· Walking, cycling, scootering to and from school

We also let everyone join in the fun – we set up activities for everyone to be involved. These activities included egg and spoon race, wheelbarrow races, big foot, green carbon footprint and other fun things for all the school to take part in at lunchtime.

Green Day happened to a Tuesday our Travel Smart Feet First Day, so for us we were really excited when we achieved our best result for Feet First for the year. We have 17 classes on 100% and overall an excellent result. For us it was a great success.
