Missy’s Adventures –What will she do next ?

Written and illustrated by Morgan and Holly

Our Lady of Assumption School Room 5

Missy the lady bird had a wonderful home and a wonderful family to match.

One day on the way to school Missy decided she had grown tired of driving to school and wanted to travel to school actively.

Missy decided she would ride her bike to school.

She put on her helmet, her knee pads and her elbow pads just to be extra safe.

Missy didn’t like the idea of riding her bike to school because it wasn’t fast enough. It made her late for school that morning.

Next Missy thought flying would be a very convenient way of getting to school . So she got her wings ready for take-off and “ woosh” up int the great wide world she went the wrong way and got lost.

Missy was now running out of ideas. She knew her best friend Aroha would know. Aroha was very wise and beautiful. Aroha suggested that Missy should try scootering to school. “ You’re brilliant!” exclaimed Missy and off she went.

When Missy got home she skipped outside into the old garden shed. At last Missy found her old scooter. Missy was a bit worried it look like it was falling to pieces.

So the next day Missy had to find another way to get to school. “ I know. I’ll go to the park tomorrow and see what others are doing”

Missy got to the park. She looked around and saw a little beetle roller blading. That’s it! What a perfect idea. She would try roller-blading. When Missy go home, she excitedly asked her Mum if she could roller blade to school tomorrow. “Sure” said her Mum as she went back to feeding baby bug.

Next morning , Missy got on her safety gear once again and she shot out the front gate.

It wasn’t long before poor Missy CRASHED! Lucky for Missy she had her safety gear on .But she was not happy.

Now Missy was going to have to come up with another way to get to school. However was going to get to school tomorrow morning?

When Missy got to school, she saw all the other kids coming in from the walking school bus.

She saw they were all getting stickers and badges for walking safely to school. That day after school, Missy asked her Dad if she would be allowed to join the walking school bus “Absolutely” said Dad “All you have to do is meet the walking school bus at the end of the street. I’ll take you there tomorrow morning on the way to work”. He went back to helping Buggles with his homework. The next morning Missy packed her bag and with her dad set off down to the end of the street.

When they got there, Missy gave her Dad a kiss and started walking with the rest of her school mates. When Missy got to school, she got a big sticker that said “ Wicked Walker” and her first walking badge. She was very proud of herself. Missy was absolutely thrilled that she had finally found the perfect way for her to get to school
