Having walked or wheeled to school, pupils at Waimairi each collected a fallen autumn leaf from volunteers at the school entrance, named them and stuck them on a cardboard tree to celebrate World Environment Day (WED).
WED coincided with our Book Week parade which is why "Max" from Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild Things Are" happens to also be in the pictures. We had a great turn out on a cold and frosty Canterbury morning.
