Two Year 6 Leeston Leaders use their road safety skills to encourage children to walk to school every Wednesday as part of the Selwyn District Councils Walk ānā wheel Wednesday programme.
Mrs Lynda Taylor Principal of Leeston Consolidated School comments that the Year 6 Leeston Leaders are encouraging pupils to take part in the WOW programme. Walking to school has many benefits - not only in terms of health and fitness, but also in terms of safety as it reduced the traffic congestion around the school gate and there are less cars on the road.
