Here is Norsewood and Districts School entry
Walking my dog You would think it would be a nice leisurely task to walk my little fat dog around our block every morning but since I had this brainwave it has become a different experience every day. Just to get out of the door I have to think up some new trick to try and avoid the cat seeing us. She seems to think this walk should include her as she stalks us lurking behind bushes and in culverts thinking I can’t see her, while I’m always worrying about my little ginger and white ball of fluff getting run over or lost. We walk past the sleeping houses often with my own eyes half closed with joggers running the streets chirping “good morning” every time they run past while I can just summon up a grunt in reply, boy I feel old and tired some mornings. Smells emit from the house that are awake, yummy breakfast smells making my tummy rumble and my dog quiver, we walk past a house that always has the national radio station turned on and I imagine an old man sitting in bed listening to it, we turn a corner and dodge the holes I know are in the pavement there because I have stumbled into them enough times and finally we turn back into our own street. My street with mostly older houses some flats and an empty section, I have to cross the street to avoid the dog that always barks at us as I don’t want to wake the neighbour hood and into my own driveway just in time to wave my husband off to work. Yes we walk the same block, the same time, the same way every day, but every day is fresh and new and everyday brings a host of new experiences.
